Staff Software Engineer needed for Tempo, the open-source distributed tracing backend at Grafana Labs, to lead technical initiatives and operational excellence.

As a Staff Engineer on the Tempo team, you will drive the architecture of core components, including ingestion, storage, and query engines. You will lead multi-quarter initiatives, mentor engineers, and ensure operational excellence as the platform scales to support next-generation observability products. The role requires deep experience in distributed systems and a collaborative, pragmatic approach within a fully remote, asynchronous environment.
