Affirm is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to lead backend card architecture for their EU teams in a fully remote role based in Poland.

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will drive technical strategy and architecture for EU card products, managing transaction processing systems. You will act as a force-multiplier for engineering teams, fostering code quality and operational excellence across the product lifecycle. This role requires deep expertise in scaling backend infrastructure and a collaborative mindset to work with global counterparts.

8+ Years of experience as a software engineer
Proficiency in designing and launching backend systems at scale
Proficiency in Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes

Strong verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
