GitLab is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer for the AMER region to lead cross-team architecture and AI-assisted development initiatives.

As a Staff Backend Engineer, you will provide technical leadership for complex backend systems and drive the modernization of monoliths into modular architectures. You will influence technical strategy across the organization, mentor engineers, and guide the team in adopting agentic AI workflows while maintaining high production standards.
