Canonical is seeking a Software Engineer to build and maintain container images within the EMEA region, operating in a fully remote capacity with occasional international travel.

This role focuses on developing robust container images and automating CI/CD pipelines while working within a global, open-source distributed team. You will be responsible for security compliance and cloud-native compatibility, contributing to projects such as OCI-based Rocks, while also mentoring team members. The position requires adherence to agile processes and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple time zones within the EMEA region.

Amit hozol magaddal

Strong experience with Python software development
Hands-on experience with building container images
Demonstrated knowledge of CI/CD systems like Jenkins, GitHub Actions or Concourse CI
Proficiency in Linux systems administration and package management
Familiarity with GitOps principles and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes or Docker
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, STEM or equivalent experience
